Case Management Developer

Practice Support

Location/Division: Portsmouth/Southampton/Brighton/Newbury

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and capable Case Management Developer to join our IT team, reporting directly to the ICT Manager. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing development of the Firm’s new case management system, Partner for Windows (P4W); ensuring that change requests are assessed and implement promptly, working towards bespoke and dedicated enhancements to the system for each of our specialist legal departments. They will also be responsible for process improvement, system upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of the system.

Along with excellent programming skills and experience, the successful candidate must be familiar with the specific requirements and nuances associated with working in a law firm and with legal technology.  

Requirements:

  • Wealth of knowledge in SQL
  • Experience of working in law firm
  • Experience with case management systems; ideally P4W
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products/macros/VBA
  • Some knowledge of visual studio/XAML form development
  • Preferable knowledge in html
  • Preferably Iron Python experience
  • Skills in SSRS reporting
  • Used to creating technical design specifications and interpreting business requirements
  • Able to work to tight timelines and meet quality best practice coding standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated

This role will be offered as either a permanent placement or fixed-term contract, depending on the preferences of the successful candidate.

The Role

We are currently seeking a proactive and confident legal support professional to join our Central Team as a Legacy Project Assistant. 

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Legacy Project Lead in running legacy support projects for the Firm, such as file closure, and to support the Firm generally with its transition from a paper environment to a digital environment. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced legal support professional;
  • Have an understanding of the entire life-cycle of a legal matter, with particular emphasis on the file-closure process of residential and/or commercial property files;
  • Naturally take a collaborative and proactive approach to their work;
  • Be resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have the tact required to work with a broad range of individuals and;
  • Be confident in using a broad range of digital technologies. 

Please note, although Coffin Mew embraces agile working, applicants for this particular role will need to be comfortable with and able to work primarily in the office, due to the nature of the role. However, the working pattern and hours can be flexible and do not have to fit within a standard 9 to 5, Monday to Friday pattern – evening and weekend working can form part of the working week if required.

The Role

Coffin Mew are currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Solicitor (or Chartered Legal Executive) to join our Property Litigation team. This individual will have exceptional client service high on their agenda, as well as the tact and versatility to work with a wide range of clients as part of a busy team.

This role will see the successful candidate managing their own caseload of matters with little to no supervision, providing support to the Partner and wider team when required.

The Property Litigation team is based across a number of our offices, and deals with a wide spectrum of Commercial and Residential Property disputes, including; landlord & tenant disputes, service charge disputes, boundary & neighbour disputes and dilapidations & disrepair.

 

The successful candidate will;

  • Have at least 2 years’ worth of experience managing their own caseload of mixed property disputes, with an emphasis on commercial property;
