The Roles

We are currently seeking a talented, proactive and confident Residential Property Solicitor, Legal Executive or Conveyancer, who has exceptional client service high on their agenda, as well as the drive to exceed expectations, to join the award winning* team in our Brighton or Newbury offices. 

This role will see the successful candidate managing their own mixed caseload of files, from instructions through to post-completion, with minimal supervision, and providing support to the senior members of the team when required. 

The Residential Property Team has knowledge and expertise in many areas, including; 

  • Buying freehold or leasehold properties;
  • Selling freehold or leasehold properties;
  • Buying from developers;
  • Re-mortgages;
  • Transfers of ownership;
  • Lease extensions; and
  • Buying auction properties.

*Our Residential Property team has recently won the Southern Regional Gold Award and the Best in County for Hampshire Award at the ESTAS Conveyancing Awards 2019. This is the UK property industry's largest independent award scheme and is entirely based on customer feedback.

Their clients include businesses & private individuals, public bodies & charities, SIPP & SASS pension trustees and their customers, farmers and landed estates. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (10 years' PQE upwards);
  • Have the ability to manage a full caseload of mixed Commercial Property work with little supervision;
  • Have experience in effectively delegating work to junior team members;

The Role

Coffin Mew are currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Solicitor (or Chartered Legal Executive) to join our Commercial & Intellectual Property (CIP) team. This individual will have exceptional client service high on their agenda, as well as the tact and versatility to work with a wide range of clients as part of a busy team.

This role will see the successful candidate managing their own caseload of matters with little to no supervision, providing support to the Senior Associate Solicitor when required.

The CIP Team deals with a broad variety of commercial matters including; drafting and advising on standard terms, bespoke contracts for new ventures and business structures, as well as data protection and privacy, intellectual property, commercial agency and distribution matters.

The successful candidate will;

  • Have around 2-5 years’ worth of experience managing their own caseload of mixed commercial matters;

The Role

Coffin Mew are currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Solicitor (or Chartered Legal Executive) to join our Inheritance & Wills Disputes Team. This individual will have exceptional client service high on their agenda, as well as the drive to exceed expectations.

This role will see the successful candidate managing their own caseload of matters with little to no supervision, whilst also providing support to the Senior Associate Solicitor in the team.

The team deals with a wide range of contentious private client matters including: Inheritance Act claims, executor and administration disputes, LPA issues, and will validity issues. The team provides direct advice to clients as well as offering in-house collaborative guidance to the Firm’s Wills, Trusts & Probate and Court of Protection Teams.

The successful candidate will;

  • Have between 1-5 years’ worth of experience handling their own caseload of mixed contentious private client matters (we will also consider applications from newly qualified Solicitors);

The team works with a wide range of clients from the sector, including insolvency practitioners, owner managed business and creditors. They are also able to assist private individuals who are facing financial difficulties, or who are dealing with an insolvency process.

The successful candidate will;

  • Have at least 4 years’ worth of experience managing their own caseload of mixed insolvency matters;
  • Naturally take a collaborative and proactive approach to their work;
  • Be comfortable working as part of a wider, multi-disciplinary team;
  • Be resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and;
