Description of role:

We seek a practical and detail orientated person(s) to take on the role of Technician in our aggressive environments laboratories.

 

You will work closely with Project Leaders and fellow technicians, carrying out complex operations in materials and corrosion testing. This will include permeation, exposure, ageing, autoclave testing, chemical analysis (all training supplied). You will be working to quality control guidelines, in-house procedures and testing standards. Utilising your general workshop skills to support the wide range of testing programmes, which will include the use of hand tools and basic machine tools.

 

Experience and/or a good understanding of Chemical analysis, materials and basic engineering skills with good attention to detail are required.

Knowledge of Gas Chromatography, Polymers, would be an advantage (but not essential) as would IT skills for data logging and data analysis. All training will be supplied In house. You will be expected to work in accordance with current Health & Safety requirements and to high quality standards within tight deadlines.

 

You will be self-motivated and willing to contribute both in a team environment and independently. You will work with different gases, chemicals and pressures to simulate the environments of the test materials. 

 

Travel: 

This position may require occasional travel.

 

Security clearance:

You will require or be prepared for UK security clearance for this role.
