The thermal processing technologies (TPT) team at TWI are looking to back fill a recently vacated position. We are seeking a self-motivated Technician/Senior Technician with mechanical, engineering or materials skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a range of different technologies including brazing, soldering, diffusion bonding, heat treatment, powder characterisation, hot isostatic pressing and wire bonding. The diversity of the technology developed and delivered by TPT is unique making this an exciting and challenging career development opportunity. 

Contributing to work on established and developing TPT processes, you will enjoy responsibility for, and rapidly gain experience in, these areas. You will strengthen the capabilities of a knowledgeable, innovative and welcoming team by taking on responsibilities including the full working knowledge and programming of our equipment, preparation of components and samples pre and post processing, laboratory experiments, maintenance of equipment and design and development of jigs, fixtures and process parameters. 



This position will require occasional travel.


Security clearance:

You may require or be prepared for UK security clearance for this role.
