About Us:

Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting is the world’s only movement for every girl and any girl because we believe that each of them deserves to be the best they can be. Free to make what they want from the Movement, girls learn by doing, make friends and have fun. In safe, local spaces, girls develop the skills and attitudes to change themselves, their communities and our world.

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) keeps the global Movement thriving, united and growing.

About the Programme:

The Dove Self Esteem Project (DSEP) and WAGGGS co-developed the Free Being Me (FBM) programme in 2013 to address the issue of low body confidence and self-esteem in young people globally. The non-formal education model has proven to be popular among group leaders and impactful on the lives of guides and scouts based on evaluation data, reaching a total of 3.5 million lives. During the Phase 2 of the programme (2016-2020), Action on Body Confidence (ABC) pack was created as a companion to the current FBM programme to support more girls and boys in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting to plan and run Action Projects that reach more people, in a meaningful way, as well as provide the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences with other members across the world By the end of 2020, FBM-ABC will reach an additional 3 million lives.

Consultancy Objectives:

The objective of this work is to co-undertake a mixed-methods evaluation for the Phase 2 of FBM-ABC programme alongside the WAGGGS MEL Manager. Specifically, the evaluation aims to know if WAGGGS and MOs managed to achieve the programme outcomes, obtain the feedback and experiences from programme recipients, and capture good practices and challenges from Phase 2 implementation to inform Phase 3 design and implementation. The evaluation also will compare the results between selected project and non-project MOs.
