ROLE PROFILE: Associate (4 years+) Fee Earner

 

 

KEY COMPETENCES

 

Undertake fee earning work as directed and active management of own caseload

Ensure effective financial control of all work undertaken

Aid the development of firm in line with business plan and key strategies as directed

Effective representation of client and advising appropriately on client best interests

Active marketing of Practice both internally and externally

Provide accurate and appropriate legal advice

Supervise the work of junior fee earners

Development of client base

 

KEY TASKS

 

Achieve, and aim to exceed, fee earning targets for billings and chargeable hours in line with internal procedures and time deadlines

Attendance at all internal Company meetings etc

Ensure work is completed accurately, in timely fashion and in line with established procedures

Keeping up to date with current legislation and impact on cases/legal precedence. 

Preparing for and attendance at client meetings

Preparing for and attendance at Court in support of Client’s case

Meet continuing competence Requirements

Present self as positive communicator of Practice, nurturing network of contacts and referrers

Receiving referrals from other firms, clients and other professionals

Effective drafting of all written documentation to clients, solicitors and courts

Ensure compliance with current Lexcel standards and requirements

Ensure compliance with SRA Code of Conduct

Participating in external meetings for marketing and networking opportunities

Maintain required CPD

Participate in legal know-how developments

Act as an ambassador of the firm

Manage own work, productivity and quality of work
