We have a great opportunity for a Litigation Associate to join our Litigation team.

Our experienced and active dispute resolution and litigation team practise across many contentious practice areas and the many procedures which control those areas. A significant number of the team’s clients are public sector bodies including central government, London boroughs, many local authorities up and down the country and public utilities. The firm also acts for private clients.

The team appear regularly in the courts on judicial reviews, planning appeals and injunctions. They also advise on a broad range of commercial contractual disputes (often via implementing Dispute Resolution Procedures in those contracts), procurement challenges as well as housing, commercial landlord and tenant, environmental work and real estate related disputes.

The role

The role will cover a range of litigation areas, but with a particular focus on commercial property disputes, as well as commercial regulatory disputes including procurement challenges. You will also be handling a range of residential property disputes, including possession proceedings and disrepair claims.

You will have the opportunity to work closely alongside the partners in the team and take a lead on matters of your own. You will take early responsibility for your work and be trusted to get on with things in a supportive, collaborative and sociable setting.

About you

You will have previous Litigation experience working in a commercial firm or in local government and will have knowledge of and experience in Local Government law.

You will ideally have experience of commercial property litigation, public procurement challenges, as well as other commercial/regulatory disputes and residential property disputes. Knowledge and expertise in Judicial Review and vires would be advantageous.

You must be bright, an effective communicator, a strong team player with the ability to manage a complex and varied workload effectively. You will have a genuine interest in public sector work and a desire to learn and progress your career in Litigation.
