The Y Theatre - Casual Theatre Technicians
The Y Theatre is looking to recruit Casual Theatre Technician’s to oversee the technical delivery of theatre events. With responsibility for assisting with maintaining capital equipment, resources and stage and electrical equipment.
The Y theatre is committed to delivering training and creating pathways into careers in technical theatre. Although having experience of working in a technical role and or work with training young people is desirable, it is not essential.

Position: Casual Theatre Technicians
Salary: £11.46 per hour
Location: Leicester City Centre

The Y Theatre, built in 1900, is the oldest surviving Victorian theatre in Leicester. It is a 300-seat theatre with an adjacent bar, a rehearsal/conference room and sports hall. The Theatre hosts performances and events 7 days a week throughout the year and our eclectic programme includes music, comedy, theatre, dance, new work and family shows. It comfortably hosts candle-lit cabaret style events and standing gigs. We programme and market many of these events and host the others on behalf of external agents and organisations.
Casual Theatre Technician main responsibilities:
To ensure the technical presentation of the programme is of a high standard
To succeed in the role of Casual Theatre Technician, your key skills will include:
Those candidates who have no prior knowledge or experience of working in technical theatre, will be given additional training and an extended induction process to upskill and equip them for effective delivery of events supported by our established technical team.
