The Fashion Retail Academy (Ofsted outstanding) is a unique, industry led college. Founded by retail giants, we offer a range of exclusive Fashion courses with unparalleled industry involvement to ensure our students gain the skills and contacts needed to successfully progress to employment.

Supported by and working closely with over 130 fashion brands, we offer a wide range of specialist fashion Diploma, Degree and Short courses, many of these exclusive to the FRA, for students of all ages with start dates throughout the year. Our courses are developed to provide our students with a combination of in-depth Fashion Retail knowledge and hands-on practical work experience in the industry.

Most of our full-time courses offer our students a guaranteed work placement with a major high street brand, ensuring our graduates leave with a wide range of skills and experience and the fastest route into work. The FRA works to create the best imaginable learning journey and be at the forefront of delivering a tailored and forward-looking curriculum for every learner.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Cover Tutor and Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and play a key part in the provision of a professional, high quality, effective and efficient learning support to students undertaking our Fashion Design and Fashion Retail qualifications from Level 2 to Level 4.

The role will significantly contribute to the day-to-day support for students in their learning. A key component will be the facilitation and delivery of cover sessions for Group Leads who are either absent or teaching from home. The ability to communicate effectively with young people and adult learners is essential as is a working knowledge of the fashion business and experience facilitating learning.

The successful candidate will have a high commitment to supporting learning as well as a flexible and multi-skilled approach. The primary focus of the role is to provide high quality cover for absent colleagues, when not providing this the post holder will be deployed as support within classes.

Team working and an ability to support the learning and development of students regardless of their starting points are important aspects of the role. The post holder is expected to support academic colleagues to deliver learning and to develop and maintain good working environments. The post holder is also required to be flexible in their approach to duties depending upon patterns of need in teaching as the role will be varied and change daily to reflect curriculum need.

Previous experience of working in education, fashion business retail and/or fashion design is essential.
