Lecturer - Group Lead in Fashion Business Retail

£34,000 per annum (FTE) or £17,000 per annum (0.5 pro-rata of £34,000 FTE) subject to qualifications and experience

The Fashion Retail Academy (Ofsted outstanding) is a unique, industry led college. Founded by retail giants, we offer a range of exclusive Fashion courses with unparalleled industry involvement to ensure our students gain the skills and contacts needed to successfully progress to employment.

Supported by and working closely with over 130 fashion brands, we offer a wide range of specialist fashion Diploma, Degree and Short courses, many of these exclusive to the FRA, for students of all ages with start dates throughout the year. Our courses are developed to provide our students with a combination of in-depth Fashion Retail knowledge and hands-on practical work experience in the industry. Most of our full-time courses offer our students a guaranteed work placement with a major high street brand, ensuring our graduates leave with a wide range of skills and experience and the fastest route into work.

To support our ambitious and on-going expansion and diversification plans, we have an exciting opportunity available for a suitably qualified and experienced academic to join our expanding team as a Lecturer - Group Lead in Fashion Business Retail. This exciting opportunity is to teach our 2-year Level 3 UAL Diploma Fashion Business Retail course. The course teaches students the fundamental functions of Fashion Business Retail including but not limited to Principle of fashion business and retail, fashion production and supply chain, marketing, communications and buying and merchandising. Successful candidates for this role will be able to teach across the broad range of disciplines, to deliver hands on practical learning as well as the relevant theory and context.  Ideally you will have experience of teaching in a further educational setting although the calibre of professional experience will also be as important.

The Lecturer - Group Lead will be responsible for delivering the best imaginable teaching, learning and assessment experience for our students. The successful candidates will have relevant and current industry experience and the ability to effectively deliver a multidisciplinary curriculum. As a Group Lead, you will create and develop successful and innovative student centred learning. You will be the primary lecturer for your groups and responsible for the success of these students, supporting, challenging and stretching their achievements. 

The ideal candidates will have a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one upon appointment. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an innovative and open-minded approach to curriculum design and development.
