Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role

The Fashion Retail Academy are currently in a new phase of growth and we have an opportunity for a proactive and positive Business Intelligence Analyst to lead on data management and process innovation.

The primary aim of this role is to develop, improve and embed effective operational practises to benefit the student experience, their outcomes and our organisation. Working closely with the Director of Technology and Digital Innovation you will assess the management information requirements of The FRA and research latest technologies and systems available on the market to ensure that our college deploys the most suitable, well integrated and cost- effective information systems.  

About you

Your role in our technology and digital innovation team will be to confidently lead on maintaining and developing our data warehousing implementation. You will aim to link together a multitude of different datasets to allow the business to make strategic decisions. Working closely with multiple departments within the organisation you will capture business requirements for new reporting metrics and KPI’s.

To be effective in this role you will have a proven track record of configuring, administering and maintaining MS SQL Server, as well as SSRS report development. Previous experience of using Microsoft Power BI to transform data, creating multi-tiered relationships between multiple data sources and providing insightful visuals is necessary. A good understanding of Power BI’s DAX and M-Query languages is required.

It is critical that you have advanced T-SQL programming skills and demonstrable skills in using business intelligence tools. Additionally, it’s important that you are able to build strong relationships with key members of the wider FRA team, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills. A background in the education sector would be preferable, however is not a necessity.

Salary: 

Circa £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience
