About the role

The FRA has been innovative in its approach to Higher Education. Our accelerated degree programmes are unique within fashion business education in the UK. They are delivered over 2 years and include industry placement and mentoring opportunities.

Due to our success and plans to expand our programme offer we have a need to recruit more talented people to join our Higher Education team. We are looking to recruit a Lecturer who has expertise in Sustainable Fashion.

The Lecturer will plan, organise and deliver exceptional teaching activities for their module, ensuring every student receives the highest quality teaching, learning and feedback, successfully preparing them for roles in industry.

The Lecturer will be responsible for leading on the delivery and creation of industry relevant module content, in line with the course and wider programme objectives. With the support of the Course Leader, they will be responsible for quality monitoring and reporting of module progress and proactively initiating recommendations for improvement. The Lecturer will personally adopt excellent teaching, learning and monitoring practices and will be dedicated to role modelling these and sharing knowledge within the team.

About you

  • You will have a BA/BSc (Hons) Degree in Fashion Communications & Styling or related subject, or comparable CPD.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification PhD/MA/PGCHE or comparable CPD would be beneficial.
  • A PG CERT in HE Teaching (essential).
  • You will have proven track record in teaching or training, preferably in higher education.
  • This role is suited to a subject specialist who is passionate about delivering a highly industry relevant and student-centred curriculum.
  • We are interested in applicants who are both direct from academia (experienced senior lecturers in Higher Education) and the fashion industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong people skills and the ability to lead, motivate and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the effective development and delivery of the module.
  • Creative and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An innovative and open-minded approach to curriculum design and development.
  • Outstanding current knowledge of subject area and Fashion Retail landscape.
  • Passionate about driving excellence i.e. student experience.

Salary:

From £21,600 to £22,800 per annum (pro-rata of £43,200 to £45,600 FTE), subject to qualifications and experience
