We’re looking for a Lead Architect to head up our Architecture function at Cashflows, we want you to drive our innovation in the payments industry and lead the development of our new propositions forward.

As our Head of Architecture you will be at the forefront of building consensus that ensures the delivery of high-quality, timely technology solutions which meet our customers’ needs. You’ll work strategically in the technology function and balance the operational needs of customers and users. You’ll be excellent at working closely with other business stakeholders to resolve potential tensions between differing requirements to find the right solution for our customers.
It’s essential that you have a deep understanding of payments and the card acquiring industry.

What you will be doing
Technology Architecture & innovation;
•Deliver architectural initiatives that drive revenue and/or improve efficiency in line with business strategy
•Design, and oversee implementation of, end-to-end integrated systems
•Develop and maintain an architectural road map for the enterprise
•Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies
•Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and infrastructure initiatives
•Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations
•Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
Products, Programs & Initiatives;
•Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives
•Support the business and IT strategic planning
•Act as the focal point for enterprise architecture and IT standards
•Develop, communicate and deploy Enterprise Architecture Governance processes
•Develop and communicate enterprise technology standards and policies
•Ensure that architectural governance is a fair, consistent and transparent process
•Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions
You will be part of our Technology team, leading the Architecture function and managing the team, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.
What you will be experienced in
•5+ years’ in payments and card acquiring
•5+ years’ or the equivalent experience in solution/application architecture
•Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain product functionality, technical design and limitations at the executive level as well as to developers and other experts
•Strong technical skills and familiarity with our main languages and systems: .NET Core, Java, MS-SQL, AWS cloud hosting
•Experience of infrastructure as code, environment automation, and containerisation technologies
•Demonstrate a track record of excellent software implementation and systems integration skills, deploying complex systems at large scale
•An adaptable approach, committed to tech innovations, progressive ideas and finding advanced tech solutions collaboratively with the business to meet the overall business strategy
Our office is in Cambridge and you’ll need to be able to travel there to work in person 2 days each week, you can work remotely 3 days a week.
